Descripció i   Metodologia:   This course is aimed at giving both primary and secondary teachers some of the necessary skills for better communication and motivation and also at ways of understanding and dealing with the stress and pressure of our profession.
The course will be based around the Multiple Intelligences, but it will also includea variety of different skills and theories which are essential for today’s teaching. We will look at what the brain needs and its development, multi-sensory teaching, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, NLP communication techniques, holistic teaching, CLIL and the importance of music.
It will be a combination of some theory and a lot of practical work, giving teachers the opportunity to develop their own unique skills
Description of on-line tasks (5 hours)
The on-line tasks will consist of either : looking for suitable material..photos, music,short texts etc. to support , illustrate and prepare their final class project.
Or: watching a specific TED Talk on-line, relevant to the course and preparing a short synopsis, commentary or questions for a class discussion.
  
Objectius   1.To give teachers more skills for better communication.
2.To give teachers the opportunity to learn about and practise a variety of different techniques.
3.To give teachers the tools to cope with their own professional stress and classroom pressures.
  
Continguts   Day 1:
Introduction of course and objectives.
Introduction of course participants and their objectives.
Presentation of Multiple Intelligences theory and test for participants.
Basic brain facts, development and needs.
Introduction to components of Holistic teaching.
Multi-sensory learning from NLP and tests for participants.

Day 2:
Working with Verbal / Linguistic and Mathematical Intelligences.
NLP communication techniques.
Memory techniques.
Skills for encouraging better reading, spelling and writing techniques.


Day 3:
Working with Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Intelligences.
Emotional Intelligence and self esteem (yours and theirs).
Why we need to learn, use and teach Mindfulness.
Skills for better listening and speaking.

Day 4:

The importance of music… when, what, how often?
Why we need to incorporate movement into our classes.
Working with Visual/ Spatial and Naturalist Intelligences.
Using CLIL with art, music, science, geography and history.
Ideas for making grammar lessons more memorable and interesting.

Day 5:

Recap of all the ideas, theories and ideas.
Questions.
Presentation of group work and projects based on different themes depending on primary or secondary levels, but using ideas and skills from the course.
  
Observacions   Aquesta formació té una part telemàtica. Les sessions presencials són els dies 3,4,5,6, i 7 de juliol de 9:00 a 14:00 h.

Avaluació   Teachers will be evalaluated on both individual and group work. During the course they will be expected to participate in a variety of activites alone or working as a pair or a group and to offer ideas and comments.
They will work part of the time in small groups of between 4 -6 people ,working at their professional level of primary or secondary on a chosen theme to prepare a class project using all the Multiple Intelligences and any other ideas or skills they have learnt. They will present these projects to the other participants on the last day of the course.

  
Requisits de  certificació   1.Minimum attendance: 80% of face to face hours.

Persones  destinatàries   Secondary and baccalaureate teachers who hold a B2 or above certificate in English.
